SPOTLIGHT ON CULTURAL PERFORMERS

A vital element of the Festival is to highlight the wide range of cultural performances that have strong African influence, such as the Candombe drumming from Uruguay.  Performances from the African continent, including a choir, will be part of a unique ensemble of performers representing their African roots through song and dance

AFRO BITES

The Festival will offer a range of African and Afro-Latino cuisine to tantalise Festival goers’ taste buds all throughout the day.

DANCE & MUSICAL CONSTRUCTIONS WORKSHOPS

African and Latin American communities share a strong connection to their music and dance.  They are well known for their vibrant and dynamic rhythms and choreographies; each movement, each beat tells a story.

Musical constructions for kids
Make a musical instrument out of recycled material to take home!
Register for a session on the day.
Time: Sessions will run at 11:30am, 12:30pm & 1:30pm.
Ages: 3+

Dance workshop for adults
Come and join in this fun Cuban salsa dance workshop! with Moro from Buena Vista Dance Academy
Register on the day.
Time: Session will run at 3pm

Candombe drumming
Afro-Uruguayan drumming workshops for kids and adults by the Candombe Urumbe crew!
Register for a session on the day.
Time: Sessions will run at different times all day from 11:30am

ARTS & CRAFTS, FASHION PARADE SHOWCASE

A cultural fashion parade and African Arts & Crafts will paint the Festival with colourful fabrics, ornaments and much more.
